We believe that modern day couples who don’t want to throw an expensive or stressful wedding should have an elegant and beautiful alternative. Enter Gooseberry. We’re delighted to be extending our photography and branding services to also serve as a Toronto elopement photographer.
Our mission is to help couples celebrate their marriage in a gorgeous, styled occasion and walk away with magazine quality photos. Let’s take a peek at what this new style of elopement photography can look like! (more…)
Are you ready for a swoon-worthy Toronto elopement that is bursting with vibrant energy and florals? Then have we got a treat for you! This gorgeous intimate wedding celebration took place at
Can you think of anything more romantic than booking an intimate Parisian inspired restaurant to exchange vows with your favourite person in the world? We can’t! This gorgeously dreamy Toronto elopement at
What is it about being by a lake or seaside that is so romantic? The setting is always a dreamy backdrop for bridal portraits, which is exactly what we were busy shooting last week! Here’s a little sneak peek of this wonderful celebration!
I absolutely adore when young, vibrant couples opt for vibrant engagement photos! In my mind an engagement session (and the whole wedding for that matter) should be an accurate reflection of the couple’s personality and style — not whatever is trendiest at the time. So when this lovely duo said they wanted something really urban with lots of artistic expression and bursts of colour there was really only one place to go — Graffiti Alley in Toronto! Here is a sneak peek from this awesome session!
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again — the best engagement sessions ever are the ones that keep it simple. Laughter, a pretty setting and… that’s it! You don’t need fancy anything to create gorgeous artistic portraits that are romantic and real. This wonderful couple and I spent a late afternoon strolling downtown Toronto and the waterfront to capture some lovely sunset moments. Here’s a sneak peek if you’re interested.
Last weekend I captured my last wedding of the 2017 season and it was a gorgeous one! Despite the weather forecast threatening torrential downpours all day, we ducked between the rain drops to capture some stunning moments of this wonderful celebration. We traveled between
When you’re invited to capture the wedding of a creative and energetic couple, you don’t say no! This beautiful day was filled with lots of laughter (isn’t the bride’s smile incredible?), happy tears, heart-warming vows, tremendous food and boisterous dancing as the night arrived. Oh, and let’s not forget some super Instagrammable moments. Here’s a sneak peek of this Toronto Island celebration if you’re interested.
I’ve always thought it a great shame that so much time, energy and expense goes into finding the ideal dress for a wedding day, only to have it locked up in a closet for the rest of its life once the cake is cut. So when this lovely couple reached out to me wanting to do something creative with their wedding dress, I leapt at the opportunity! They wanted bright, bubbly and fun so we put our heads together and came up with this colourful concept.
Imagine gathering 12 of your favourite people in the world and booking a spectacular historic inn that looks like something that has been transported from a Jane Austen novel. This is the wedding I had the pleasure of capturing over the weekend and I have to say it was a truly one-of-a-kind day. The love, laughter and ease of the entire celebration was inspiring and most of all it was stress-free — even when the heaven’s decided to open moments before the couple’s dramatic first look! Here’s a sneak peek if you’d like to see.
Here at Gooseberry Studios, I have a theory about engagement sessions. It’s not about what you wear or how you do your hair. It’s not about being super styled or overly planned. The best engagement sessions are about being present with each other on camera in a single simple setting that holds sentimental value — and (the secret ingredient) not being afraid to really laugh. This wonderful couple followed this exact recipe for their sunset engagement session in Waterloo earlier this week and the results are… well, take a peek and this sneak peek and see for yourself.
On Friday Gooseberry joined this lovely Irish couple for a bubbly outdoor wedding celebration! To add even more emotion to the day, the pesky weather report kept threatening a storm so we raced around beneath the clouds with our fingers crossed hoping for sunshine. And luckily enough, the heaven’s came through! We visited the iconic Toronto skyline to document this international love story, we witnessed beautiful vows exchanged beneath a shady canopy and we danced the night away, watched over by twinkling chandeliers. Here’s a sneak peek from the day if you’re interested.
When you arrive to capture a simple spring wedding and the bride’s bouquet is bursting with rich vibrant peonies (your favourite flower) you know it’s going to be a fantastic celebration! After a lovely ceremony in a darling chapel, we frolicked around in a wee secluded park and were then whisked away into a fantastic romantically lit dinner followed by dancing. It was a lovely way to tie the know and here is a small sneak peek from the day!
Engagement sessions that incorporate things the couple are naturally enthusiastic about are always the most memorable. For this Toronto engagement session we wandered the iconic St. Lawrence Market, thus capturing the couple’s affinity for local food, coffee and urban style! Simple, style and sweet — everything a modern and meaningful engagement session should be.
Spring weddings are light and dreamy, breathy and beautiful — but also constantly teased by the lingering possibility of rain. This gorgeous couple’s celebration on Saturday was such an affair, but love conquered all — even the weather! Rather than let a few raindrops get them down, this lively bride and groom busted out some umbrellas and a wonderful sense of humour to make the most of their day. Laughter, laughter and more laughter trickled throughout the entire celebration. Here’s a sneak peek!
It was a year choc-full of love, celebration and joy on the wedding front. Every single celebration that I had the privilege of photographing moved me and made my heart flutter. I only wish I could share all of my favourite Toronto wedding photography moments with you, but alas this small sampling will have to do for now.
Engagement sessions are wonderful. Purely and simply wonderful, because they are an opportunity to capture a couple in love being themselves. This year I had the incredible experience of working with numerous lovebirds and creating just as many unique Toronto engagement sessions to suit a wide range of styles. We explored forests, we lingered in coffee shops, we danced as if no one was watching, we staked out a replica Ghostbusters car, we hid away in bookstores, we took long meandering walks by the lake — I even hid in the bushes (literally) to capture a surprise proposal! Above are just a few of my favourite engagement moments from 2016. How I wish I could share them all, but I’m afraid that if I did my heart would explore.
